Social Media / Business Marketing Examples

My sincere thanks to Peter Kim for allowing me to use his list of Social Media examples as a springboard for this one. I have grouped the majority of Peter’s resources by category so that if you wanted to just focus on one strategy at a time, rather than by company, you can do so. I have also updated direct links and broken links. I wanted to focus squarely on links that connected directly with that particular company’s use of Social Media, so all but a few articles that Peter listed will not be listed here.

Feel free to contact me if you have updates or additions. We could use some links in those areas where I’ve listed just a few.

    Hi Ray:

Nice work on the list – and we (MotiveQuest) appreciate being included. One really interesting thing about the Mini work (case study here)

is that the agency BSSP decided to target Mini owners instead of trying to acquire new ones. This is a radical shift in thinking. Mini moved from a “ship and forget” model to one where they embrace their community of current owners.

Instead of targeting non-Mini owners with the campaign, they aimed at the existing community, informed by what they are most passionate about in an effort (successful) to increase sales.

    That is radical thinking.

    Nice work Ray.

I am tracking the enterprise adoption of social networking as an industry analyst / consultant. This really helps the entire industry to keep track of the implementations. I have started a database, as well, but it is not as complete as yours.

Check out my blog (there are some market size numbers on it as well) and I am putting you on my blog roll.

    Hi Ray,

I work with my client, the Smithsonian Channel and they’ve just launched a new blog at http://blog.smithsonianchannel.com/

The blog seeks to showcase the channel’s extensive programming, covering topics from history and pop culture to music and nature. It’ll also be reporting on events in and around the Smithsonian Institution.

We would love to see it added to your list.

    Thanks,
    Chrissie
